Spiritual Life
Spiritual Vitality: We are a worshipping community emphasizing both a personal walk with the Lord as well as gathering together corporately as a seminary family for the praise and adoration of God and instruction in His Word.
Local Churches
The Southern Baptist churches provide opportunities for worship, Bible study, prayer, witnessing, leadership, spiritual discipline, and missions activities for the seminary family. A list of these churches may be obtained from the Baptist Association of Greater New Orleans office at 504.282.1428.
Chapel Services
The Fall and Spring semesters allow the seminary family to gather each Tuesday and Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Leavell Chapel for worship. Our desire is that this moment of corporate worship is both spiritually encouraging and challenging for our students, staff, and faculty.
Serve Day
This is an opportunity each semester for our students, staff, and faculty to go off campus and be the hands and feet of Christ by serving alongside various ministries throughout the city of New Orleans. All classes after lunch are canceled to encourage everyone to participate. Serve Day is a key part of what we do here at NOBTS and Leavell College. We believe that to prepare here starts with serving here.
Men’s and Women’s Groups
We provide multiple options for both men and women for fellowship through gender specific Bible studies, events, and prayer groups.
Mentorship
We believe that being mentored by someone older and wiser than us is an important part of our spiritual formation. Because of that, we have implemented a mentorship program where you can get connected to a trusted staff/faculty member who desires to help you grow in Christ.
Prayer Needs
The office of Spiritual Formation and Student Life prays weekly for students together as a staff. You can scan this QR code and submit your prayer request and our office will pray for you personally. You can also submit your requests confidentially.
