Major Overview

This major is intended for those students who seek to prepare for classroom teaching. The 30-hour major is composed of courses exploring teaching and relational methods vital to the learning environment. Students earning this major will be prepared to pursue teaching certification through alternative methods.

* Program Note: Classroom Organization & Management and Teaching Exceptional Learners are only available in a bi-annual over/under intensive on the New Orleans campus. Students will be required to attend the intensive for course credit.

** Program Note: Upon entrance into the program, students will be provided with a degree plan that will allow them to complete their undergraduate degree in 3-3.5 years. This plan will include on campus courses, intensives, and practicums that will allow students access to schools. During their time in the school system, they may build relationships in order to find a placement once they complete their degree and iTeach alternative certification program.
