A Message from the Dean of Graduate Studies
Welcome to the School of Providence and Prayer, whose mission is to prepare students to walk with Christ, proclaim His truth, and fullfill His mission. We desire to be your partner as you continue to focus on answering the call that God has placed on your life. Our desire to partner with you has led us to gather a world class faculty who is committed to the gospel, to Christ, and to His church. Understanding that the Lord has called many of you to varying places and ministries, we are committed to providing educational degree programs ranging from certificates to research doctoral degrees, all of which are designed to equip you to be effective ministers of the gospel. In the graduate program of NOBTS, our mission, our ministry competencies, and our teaching disciplines all center on fulfilling God’s mission.
If you are a Leavell College student or have completed your Bachelor’s degree from a Christian college with a religion major or minor, you may qualify for advanced credit toward your Master of Divinity degree through the Accelerated MDiv Program.
Our passion to fulfill God’s calling and mission has led this historic institution to deliver our courses through a variety of delivery formats to provide ideal convenience for students while ensuring a level of excellence in academics. In addition to the New Orleans campus we have classrooms in 23 locations, internet students in all 50 states and around the world, and mentoring sites in many Southern Baptist churches and ministry organizations. Through the use of technology the sun never sets on part of the NOBTS family.
If you need additional information about a particular program, please contact my office, the appropriate director, or the Academic Counselor in the Registrar’s Office.
May God continue to lead you as you entrust the gospel to others (2 Tim. 2:2).
Dr. “Bo” Rice
Dean of Graduate Studies
