A Welcome from the President

Welcome to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Leavell College!

Everything we do as an institution is driven by this statement:

NOBTS and Leavell College prepare servants to walk with Christ, proclaim His truth, and fulfill His mission.

My prayer for you as you study here is that God would create in you a passion to serve. As you work hard at your studies, do not neglect your walk with Christ. Your relationship with Him will sustain you long after you leave this place. Be diligent in your studies, but maintain your walk with Christ because it is the truth of Jesus we proclaim and His calling that we answer. The mission of Christ is simple, go and make disciples. Whatever context God calls you to serve in, do so faithfully and humbly following the example Jesus set as he washed the feet of the disciples. Let us be men and women who take up the towel and basin to serve others.

One of the real gifts of your time at NOBTS and Leavell College will be the friendships you develop with fellow students, faculty, and staff. I encourage you to work hard in your studies, but also take time to invest in friendships that will last a lifetime. Those friends will be a support and encouragement to you throughout your life and ministry.

You are answering God’s call to serve Him wherever He may lead. I pray that your time at NOBTS and Leavell College enriches you and strengthens you for the task ahead.
